Festival 2007

The committee is pleased to announce a record distribution in 2007 of £14,000.

The Alfriston Festival is an annual event taking place during the latter part of August, culminating with The Village Fair on August Bank Holiday Monday.  Over the years it has become increasingly popular combining, as it does, a variety of events from al fresco live theatre and concerts, an Art Show and a Children’s party through to the rollicking fun of an old-style village fair.  There is something for all the family and for children of all ages!

There will be afternoon and evening events throughout the period of The Festival starting with The Rude Mechanicals new play on Saturday evening 18th August. The Art Show starts on Wednesday and goes through to Monday. On Saturday 25th there will be a display of collectors’ cars and motorcycles, a Meadow Fun Run, Tug-o-War, Archery, and an indoor exhibition of model trains and dolls’ houses.

All profit from the Festival goes to a number of village, local and national institutions and charities.  Last year’s distribution can be viewed at ‘2006 Festival Accounts’.

The Festival is supported and sponsored by a number of individuals and organisations to whom we are extremely grateful. The following list will be updated, and additional information will be supplied shortly:
